‘Play to Reel’ - Subject Association Programme

       As part of our second semester subject association programme, we conducted a powerpoint presentation on Malayalam film adaptations from Shakespearean plays entitled ‘Play to Reel’ on 14th July 2023. We selected 6 Malayalam films such as Kaliyattam, Joji, Veeram, Annayum Rasoolum, Karmayogi and Kannaki which have been adapted from famous Shakespearean plays.       We included pictures and videos from the movies to make the presentation more engaging. At the end of the presentation, we conducted a quiz competition based on the PowerPoint presentation. The success of the program was evident not only in the positive feedback we received but also in the increased understanding and appreciation for the Shakespearean literary masterpieces and Malayalam cinema.

A LETTER TO SHAKESPEARE- Subject Association Programme

      As part of our second semester subject association programme, we conducted a letter writing competition. The letter writing competition was entitled ‘A Letter to Shakespeare’. Most of the students are familiar with the world famous playwright Shakespeare. We asked the students to write a letter to Shakespeare by sharing their views, emotions and perspectives about him. We gave them a one week time gap for the students to write the letter.                  We have received so many entries from the students. All of the letters were interesting and some were poetic too. From the group of letters we received, we selected the letter written by Athira from the Physical Science option as the best one. The competition was very interesting and we ensured maximum participation.

WORDSCAPES- Subject Association Programme

          As part of our second semester subject association programme, we conducted a word game named 'Wordscapes' on 11th July 2023. For the game, we divided the students into five groups. The game had three rounds. The first round was a Spell-Bee Competition. Two students from each group were chosen to participate in the first round. The Spell Bee Competition was divided into 3 sessions with easy, medium and hard-level words.      The second round was a picture identification game. In this round, we  presented a series of connecting pictures and the students had to identify the word. Two Students from each group participated in this round. The last round was dumb charades. In this round, we selected two groups who scored more in the first two rounds. We selected a series of idioms from English language. First Prize for my friends in Intercollege Mime Competition

                        The District Medical Office (DMO) Alappuzha organized an online inter-college mime competition, where students from several colleges performed a mime and uploaded the content online for judgement.  Students from JBMCTE  showcased their talent and teamwork.      The participants included Athira, Anjana Krishnan, Ponnu, Anjana Sudha, Sri Lakshmi, Megha Mohan, Fathima, Srinidhi, Gopika, Reshma, and Amina.      The script for their performance was written by Athira. She spent many hours for creating a meaingful script. Krishna took charge of the makeup so that each one of them looked perfect. The videography and editing were handled by Krishnan Unni. They all practiced tirelessly after classes.      Their collective efforts and dedication is the reason they won the first prize.
