Christmas Day Celebrations at JBMCTE

The preparation started several days before the Christmas day celebration.  The students were divided into two houses and I was part of house number 1 supervised by Nisha Miss. We were really excited about the Christmas day competitions. Our Whatsapp group was flooded with ideas, suggestions, and messages for organising stuff, buying decorative items, distributing duties, practising for individual and group competitions, and scheduling offline and online meetings. We met at a group member’s house and manually made so many things required for crib-making and room decoration.

The programme began with carol song competition. Both houses sang exceptionally well. After that was crib-making and room decoration. Without sparing a minute, every one of us actively participated in the making. In between, we also faced some minor difficulties and setbacks but the team handled the situations diligently. Both of the rooms were superbly decorated and were visually pleasing. This was followed by gift exchange session. The gift I received was a cute little clock from my Christmas friend. The programme was vibrant and entertaining with songs and dances, and the two Christmas Papas added charm to the celebration.

The results of the various competitions were announced in the end. Though we were happy about the end results, what actually mattered was the entire process. The interaction, cooperation, problem-solving, feedbacks, viewpoints and hard work that have gone behind this is what really matters. This opportunity has also allowed us to be creative, to learn from each other, to accommodate and respect suggestions and opinions, and to build relationships. This is the beauty of teamwork.
