English Subject Association- LITWITS

 

    We the students of English option organised our subject association 'LITWITS' on 6th January 2023. The ceremonial lamp was lighted by our dear Principal and option head, Rekha mam. She gave the inaugural address and also unveiled our magazine “CHASMENTA”. The magazine was a literary and artistic product of our joint efforts. The word 'chasmenta' itself means teamwork. We then invited all the students and teachers to our option class where we were conducting a literary exhibition to introduce everyone to the world of Indian English Literature. We also set up a mini library in our option class for all those who would like to develop a taste for literature. Our magazine was also presented in the library for every one to read.

We didn’t limit the exhibition to chart paper writings. We presented the actual book along with details of the author we were trying to introduce them to. There were also puzzles, word games and identification games to actively involve the students. They had to read the writings on the chart papers to solve some of the games. Those who solved the puzzles and other activities were also rewarded with chocolates. Many of them borrowed books from our mini-library. The books we provided were collected from our own house and from our dear and near ones. It was so satisfying to see our friends enter the world of literature because of our small initiative.

   The active involvement from the side of both students and teachers made this event a grand success.
