Independence day celebrations at JBMCTE

In the Independence Day celebrations at our college, students were dressed in white clothes and they gathered in the college ground early in the morning to participate in the parade and flag-hoisting. We marched with heads held high and proud of being an Indian. The hoisting of the national flag was done by Pushpalatha Miss and we all saluted it in unison.
After that, patriotic songs and dances were performed on stage by students. We were also dressed in the traditional outfits of each state in India and presented the attire with their unique dance and music of the state. This captured the essence of each state. There were goan, kashmiri, punjabi, assamese, bengali, malayali, tamilian, gujarati attires etc. Bharatamata looked elegant in red saree. I was dressed as a Maharashtrian lady and danced to 'Pinga' on stage.

The celebrations showcased the unity in diversity that defines our nation.
