WEEK NINE OF TEACHING PRACTICE

This week was quite eventful at school. I made sure to arrive on time every day, sign the attendance register, and get ready for the first periods in 8 B. My usual tasks included covering substitution periods and teaching English in 8 B.  In my English class, my students and I spent a lot of time talking about nature since we were finishing up the chapter 'A Day in the Country'. The kids had so many questions about different things related to nature. I tried to make them feel comfortable so that they can ask me doubts and talk about their thoughts and opinions freely. To help them understand better, I used a lot of pictures and videos. I tried to be a friendly and approachable teacher. I also gave them notes and wrote in large letters with colorful chalks, which they loved. I also gave them positive reinforcement every now and then like thumbs-ups, high fives, and verbal praises.

On Tuesday, I did a sociometry experiment with the 8B class. I found out who the stars, cliques, and isolates were. This gave me a good understanding of the class's social dynamics. I always make sure that I never isolate any of my students. I have a good bond with each and every student in my class.

By Wednesday, we finished the chapter "A Day in the Country." I summed up everything they learned. That day  Aisha, my fellow teacher traineee and I did a conscentization class on the duties and rights of Indian citizens in 9A. We made posters and slides to keep it interesting.

Thursday and Friday were all about the Christmas exams. On Thursday, I didn't have exam duty, but I helped out by supplying extra sheets, distributing question papers, and arranging answer scripts roll no: wise. Friday was more hectic as I had exam duty of Hindi exam  for class 8th. I managed all the exam materials carefully and made sure everything ran smoothly. Students were seated correctly and I was vigilant throughout the exam.

Overall, it’s been a busy but fulfilling week. Every experience is making me more passionate about teaching. My love for teaching just keeps growing.
