Safe Campus for All

Image
The 2023 College Union Chirath organized a program called "Say No to Ragging" to bring students together and make them feel like a family. This event was part of Anti-Ragging Week, held from August 12th to 18th. We wanted to create a campus free of ragging and be friends with the other college fellows.  The event's motto itself was "Be a Buddy, Not a Bully."  Students learned about the college’s rules against ragging, the legal actions taken against ragging, and the support given to victims.  Anti-Ragging Orientation,  Poster-Making Competition,  Essay-Writing Competition,  Slogan-Writing Competition and  Digital Logo Designing  were conducted. M any students took part in it and won prizes.

Independence day celebrations at JBMCTE

In the Independence Day celebrations at our college, students were dressed in white clothes and they gathered in the college ground early in the morning to participate in the parade and flag-hoisting. We marched with heads held high and proud of being an Indian. The hoisting of the national flag was done by Pushpalatha Miss and we all saluted it in unison.      After that, patriotic songs and dances were performed on stage by students. We were also dressed in the traditional outfits of each state in India and presented the attire with their unique dance and music of the state. This captured  the essence of each state. T here were goan, kashmiri, punjabi, assamese, bengali, malayali, tamilian, gujarati attires etc. Bharatamata looked elegant in red saree. I was dressed as a Maharashtrian lady and danced to 'Pinga' on stage.      The celebrations showcased the unity in diversity that defines our nation.

A donation drive by KANIV 2023

The Social Club of our college did a very meaningful program "Kanivu" on the 15th of June 2023. We collected clothes from our house, from neighbours and relatives' houses. The aim of the programme was to gather clothes that were no longer in use and to donate and bring joy to those in need. The collected clothes and gifts for children were then donated to the inmates of Gandhibhavan.      A money box was also placed in college, encouraging students and teachers to deposit small amounts of money at the end of every month so that we can financially help the needy. The students took the initiative to cook food at home, each one contributing one 'pothichoru'. These homemade meals were then thoughtfully packed and distributed to those in need within the premises of Kayamkulam. This was a sincere attempt from our side to bring comfort and warmth to these people.                         ...
